Green Party Conference Spring 2010, London

Spring Conference 2010 was held at at The Arts Depot, London, from Thursday 18th February to Sunday 21st February 2010.

On the eve of the General Election, conference was held in London, the heart of the nation and home to Parliament, the original seat of democracy. The Green Party's conference showed how elected Greens continue to make a difference, highlighting the work of our key candidates - Caroline Lucas (Brighton Pavilion), Darren Johnson (Lewisham Deptford), and Adrian Ramsey (Norwich South). 

Highlights included:

The speeches from Green Party Leader Caroline Lucas and Deputy Leader Adrian Ramsay

and panel sessions highlighting how the Greens lead the fight for fairness.

Low wages - chaired by Darren Johnson AM with speakers from UNISON, London Citizens and Citizens Income.

‘In conversation with Oliver James’ - Author of Affluenza, on how wealth and misery go hand in hand.

Equalities - chaired by Caroline Lucas MEP with Will Hutton (The Work Foundation and Observer columnist) and Kate Pickett (co-author - The Spirit Level).

Civil Liberties - chaired by Adrian Ramsay with Peter Tatchell (human rights campaigner, co-founder of direct action gay rights group OutRage! and Green Party human rights spokesperson), Afua Hirsch (Human Rights teacher, Barrister, blogger, and Guardian newspaper columnist), plus Phil Booth, (NO2ID National Co-ordinator).
