Matt Wootton is a former External Communications Co-ordinator on the Green Party's national Executive.
He is Convener of the party's Standing Orders Committee, responsible for interpreting the Constitution.
He has also held the position of national Publications Co-ordinator, and as such was mainly responsible for the Green Party's "re-branding" as the party of Real Progress in 2004.
In 2003 he acted as media officer for the National Assembly for Wales campaign.
He lives in Lancaster and in May 2005 came second in the race for the Lancaster East county council seat, winning 27% of the vote and halving the winning Labour candidate's majority.
He is a classical musician, particularly interested in historical performance practices and the work of JS Bach.
In July 2005, Matt's journey to protest at the G8 summit was filmed for the ground-breaking BBC documentary "G8: Can you Hear Us?"
He is also a veteran of the UN Earth Summit in Johannesburg in 2002.
Matt currently works as Communications Manager for the digital arts organisation "folly" in Lancaster.
