Transport professor John Whitelegg is a local councillor in Lancaster, and Leader of the North West Green Party.
John is also Professor of Sustainable Transport at Liverpool John Moores University and Professor of Sustainable Development at York University's Stockholm Institute of the Environment.
A transport campaigner of global stature and reputation, John has written ten books on transport and is editor of the journal World Transport Policy and Practice.
