Greens get two
12 June 2004
Britain's "most reforming MEP" has retained her seat in South East England.
Following a strong defence in London where Jean Lambert held her seat, Caroline Lucas has retained the seat she first won in 1999.
Green Party media chief Spencer Fitz-Gibbon commented:
"Sadly, England's footballers went two down tonight. But at least our Green MEPs have mounted a powerful defence."
