Shane Collins

Shane Collins has been a member of the Green Party since 1989.

He is the Green Party candidate for the Dulwich and West Norwood constituency and the national Green Party Drugs spokesperson.

In Lambeth he is the Lambeth Green Party convenor and a board member of the Lambeth Community Police Consultative Group, the interface between the police and community in Lambeth.

In the early 90's Shane was one of the first group arrested at Twyford Down which kick started Britain's successful anti roads movement. From 1991-94, Shane was a core member of CoolTan Arts, a self funded, thriving, squatted community arts centre in Brixton and helped form Reclaim the Streets and the Freedom Network. Shane worked on the Land is Ours occupations and took Ecotrip around numerous clubs and festivals.

In 2000, he joined the Nader Green presidential campaign in New York and completed a speaking tour of 23 US cities. From 1999 – 2004, Shane was the licencee for Britain’s Cannabis march and festivals. Shane currently is the licencee for London's Urban Green Fair and organises the annual Brockwell Park Summer Feast and a director of the Big Green Gathering.

He has a partner, a child and a carbon footprint of 2.77 tonnes per year.
