Angela Thomson

Angela Thomson has been a councillor on Broomfield Parish council (near Chelmsford) since May 2007. Born in Scotland, she moved to Essex over 30 years ago to live with her partner Andrew. Angela has a degree from the Open University. She joined the Green Party in 1987. Angela Thomson

Angela is concerned about:

  • human population growth
  • animal welfare
  • workers' rights.

She has stood in many local elections and has helped run her local party. She has also worked on Policy issues for three years for the national Green Party.

Public Transport And Health Services

Angela is keen to see improvements in public transport in the region. She will work to get European Union funding to make it happen.
Walking and cycling should be seen as real transport options not just as leisure pursuits.
Angela campaigned to keep her local family planning clinic open. She believes that evening clinics are important for working women who commute to London.

At The Heart Of The Green Party

• Angela represented her region for two years on the national Green Party Regional Council.
• She was on the Green Party Policy Committee for three years. She updated planning, workers' rights, and population policy. She also ran workshops and spoke at conference.
• Recently, Angela helped write the rules for the Green Party leadership contest.
