Accessibility at Conference

We aim to make conference as accessible to all as possible. This page will updated as more information is available.

Speeches and plenary sessions will be interpreted with British Sign Language (BSL). Speeches and plenaries will also be remotely transcribed and the text displayed on screens in the auditorium.

The conference livestream video broadcast on the members’ website will include both the remote transcription (subtitles) and BSL video.

There is a fixed-loop hearing system in the Auditorium.

Large print and braille versions of the conference documents are available on request.

All our conferences spaces will be wheelchair accessible. There will be designated wheelchair spaces in the Auditorium and accessible toilets are available throughout the venue. A detailed map of the venue will be available nearer Conference, it will be available here on the website and in the agenda.

We will be hiring 2 mobility scooters for the duration of Conference to assist members with mobility at the venue. If you would like to hire a scooter yourself please get in touch and we be able to help organise this.

A designated Quiet Room will be available during conference.

Gender neutral toilets will be available during conference.

There are disabled toilets on each level of the venue, these will be indicated on the map of the venue. The nearest changing places toilet is in the Harrogate Library (Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 1EG). You can find details of changing places toilets in and around Harrogate here.

You can find accessibility information about Harrogate train station on the national rail website here.

Blue Badge parking is available in the venue’s underground car park. There is direct lift access to Entrance 1 by the Auditorium. There is also free Blue Badge parking in nearby Jubilee car park. Please note: The main entrance for Conference will be Entrance 3 on King’s Road, and we will not be using the Auditorium on Saturday 7th. Underground car park access will still be available.

Guide dogs are welcome at the venue. Please get in touch in advance if you are planning on bringing one so the venue can cater for your animal.
