"David Cameron on Tuesday set out his four objectives for reforming the EU. The first three are all about protecting the City, and making Europe work in the interests of big business, rather than citizens. It is not until the fourth that the people of Britain and Europe are mentioned. But Cameron’s planned attempt to curb our cherished freedom of movement achieves nothing positive.

"In fact, it will make life harder for thousands of workers who keep our public services going, who serve us in cafés and who take care of our children. They have come to Britain to work. They pay their taxes and they make a vital contribution to our culture and our communities. Yet the inadequate pay they receive from their employers — thanks to a government that wouldn’t dare set the minimum wage at a level people can live on — leaves them in need of support."
