Opportunities in Green Party Head Office

Head of Finance

The core purpose of the role is to lead the Party’s finance function, delivering the Party’s financial plans and ensuring its full compliance with accounting and other regulatory standards. The post-holder will have lead responsibility for financial and management accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting. They will work closely in these roles with the Party’s CEO and Treasurer and will manage a small team based at the Party’s head office in London but will also liaise extensively with the Treasurers of both regional and local parties.

This is a demanding but exciting role involving the chance to shape the direction and future prospects of the Green Party.

Salary: £42,401 – £53,775 (Points 37-49 on Green Party Salary Scale)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Line manager: Chief Executive

Line management responsibilities: Senior Finance Officer, Finance Assistant

Member of the Staff Management Group

Reporting to: Chief Executive, Treasurer and Finance Coordinator, Green Party Executive (GPEX), and the Administration and Finance Committee.

Training and Development Manager

The Training and Development Manager is an exciting leadership role with key responsibility to develop and strengthen the grass roots organisation of the Green Party and contribute significantly to election success.

Salary: £34,102 to £36,189 – points 26-29 on the GPEW national pay scales

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Green Party Office, London or home-based

Contract: permanent

Line manager: Chief Executive

Line manages: Local elections staff (Field Organisers) in the south of England and Wales, and the National Coordinator in Wales. Line management will include regular 1-2-1 supervisions and developmental reviews.

Key relationships: Local Elections Manager; Field Organisers, Regional Party Chairs or Coordinators; Election Strategy Steering Group; staff management team; GPEx Local Party Support Co-ordinator; GPEx Elections Coordinator.

Opportunities in Local/Regional Parties

Field Organiser - Wales

Field Organisers have overall responsibility for improving the capacity of local parties to fight and win elections. This includes providing training, guidance and advice on recruiting volunteers, building teams, and planning and executing election campaigns.

Salary: £22,950 (pro-rata) - point 6 on Green Party National Pay Scale.

Hours: 8 hours per week.

Contract: Fixed term position to 31 December 2018, with likely extension beyond this date. Some work will be outside of core hours (09:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday) according to the needs of volunteers.

Location: Home based. Travel to local parties as and when needed.

Line manager: Regional Manager

Key Relationships: Regional Managers; Wales Green Party Chairs; Wales Green Party Council; local party officers and campaign teams, other field staff.
