Communications Officer

The principal purpose of the Communications Officer role is to support and energise the Green Party communications, across specific functions.

The postholder will have a broad range of communications skills ranging from press briefing and release writing to social media, speech-writing to campaigning.

The postholder will have the research skills to support the development of communications outputs and the ability to build and foster relationships with individuals and organisations, internally and externally, to enhance the profile of key Green politicians and the party more generally.

Salary: £23,853 to £25,313 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 35 hours per week

Job type: Six-month fixed term contract

Social Media Officer

The Green Party seeks an exceptional Social Media Officer to oversee the Party’s social media presence. In this role, you will give Green Party content meaningful impact through digital channels through timely, engaging and strategic content across a variety of channels and audiences. These channels will include, but not necessarily be limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the Green Party’s day to day, election and campaign activities, as well as providing exposure to the social media aspects of the Party’s development and engagement initiatives. This role also requires an ability to coordinate (on a day-to-day basis) and amplify the social media activity of the Green Party leadership team and a range of Green Party’s communications functions including the spokespeople network, Parliamentary Offices, City Hall, and regional/local parties.

Salary: £23,853 to £25,313 per annum [points 6-9 on the GPEW salary scale]

Hours: 35 hours per week

Job type: Permanent

Location: Initially remote with scope to become part time London office based, according to office reopening guidelines.

Hackney and Islington Campaign Officer

The Islington and Hackney Green Party seek to recruit a Campaign Officer to help our local election efforts.

This role will focus on mobilising members, coordinating leafleting and organising action days. This is an exceptional opportunity to get involved with the Green Party at an exciting time of growth.

We are ambitious local parties joining together to win more councillors at the 2022 local elections and this role is crucial to delivering record Green support for Sian Berry’s campaign for London Mayor.

Salary: £22,750 pro rata (point 3 on the Green Party pay scale)

Telephone Fundraiser Supervisor

The London Green Party and South East Green Party are aiming to fundraise for our upcoming election efforts. Our aim is to inspire members to set up monthly direct debits and help fuel success at the elections in May 2021.

As a Telephone Fundraiser Supervisor you will be providing training and support to telephone fundraisers. You will listen to some of their calls and give advice. You will ensure the smooth working of our calling software, processing of donations and the correct logging of call outcomes.

Every call will be an opportunity for us to learn about our members' experience with the Green Party.

Fundraising the targeted amount of money for our regions would be transformational. We have no doubt an increased monthly income can help us elect more Councillors and Assembly Members. You can be part of driving a Green Wave of success.

Salary: £10 an hour

Hours: 34.5 hours a week

  • Weekday shifts will be 6pm - 9:30pm
  • Weekend shifts will be: 3pm - 8pm
  • We’d ask you to have an extra hour’s worth of admin per day - 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after shifts.

  • Paid training on 5th December
  • Fundraising campaign runs from 7th December until 17th January - with an opportunity to extend.

Location: Home working but with scope for this to change to an office in Brighton

Telephone Fundraiser

  • There will be a rota where people will be able to book in working hours

Wales Campaign Manager

The Green Party is recruiting a Campaign Manager to oversee the campaign for the 2021 Senedd Cymru election with the two aims of electing the first Green Member of the Senedd and to help our local parties be well on their way to Council election breakthroughs the following year. With further powers devolved to the Welsh Parliament, there’s a real opportunity for Wales to follow a clearer path to social and environmental justice. The fairer electoral system and organisational approach of Wales Green Party together provide our best ever opportunity for electoral progress in 2021 and 2022.

As our Campaign Manager, you will understand what an effective campaign looks like to close the gap to win a Senedd member. You will be a motivational leader who is able to articulate a clear sense of direction and purpose to inspire others to contribute to the Senedd campaign. You will have sound political judgement, a record of effective election campaign management and crucially, be strongly motivated by the challenge and excitement of taking Wales Green Party a very big step forwards.

Salary: £30,251 to £37,614 depending on experience (Points 18 to 29 on the GPEW salary scale)

Hours: Up to full time (35 hours per week) but the recruitment panel is very open to alternative working proposals

Job type: Fixed term contract until 6 th June 2021

Location: Primarily working from home, although there will be a need for travel

Sheffield Campaign Manager

Sheffield Green Party is recruiting a Campaign Manager to develop, oversee and deliver our campaign plan for the May 2021 local elections. Sheffield Green Party is aiming to elect 6 councillors to gain 5 seats, increase the council group from 8 to 13 and end the Labour majority to create a “No Overall Control” council. Our campaign will also support a citywide referendum vote to end the Cabinet governance system.

This is an exciting opportunity to help us achieve these goals. The post holder will manage a range of projects that contribute to the election campaign including doorstep campaigning, strategic data collection, publications and press, working closely with the Elections Coordinator, ward organisers, Councillors and candidates.

The role will require a suitable mix of online and verbal contact with colleagues, plus an increasing on the ground campaign organisation presence in Sheffield as the election date approaches.

Salary: £23,853 to £26,862, pro rata [points 6-12 on the Green Party salary scale]

Hours: 26 – 30 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours in the weeks prior to the election. Some work will be outside of core hours (weekdays 09:30 to 17:00) according to the needs of volunteers. This may include a Saturday and/or Sunday once per month on average

Location: A mixture of home working and travel to and around Sheffield as and when needed
