The Green Party is recruiting a Head of Communications to develop and coordinate our communications and messaging strategies, and oversee the Party’s issue based campaigns.  This post-holder will be the Manager of the Green Party’s Newsroom with overall responsibility for the strategic direction of Party Communications, and will form part of a senior management team within the Party’s national staff, reporting to the Chief Executive.

Purpose of the role

The core purpose of this role is ensure that the Party’s communications and messaging strategies are effective at positioning the Party, influencing voters, and reframing political discussions and the wider perception of the Party and its aims.

It is also essential that the role is also effective at building strong media relationships and in ensuring wider and deeper coverage of the Party, its vision and policies.  The role will play a lead part in delivering the Party’s political and organisational strategies and in guiding and leading staff in the communications team.  

Applicants with experience of managing communications for a political or other sizeable campaigning organisation would be particularly suited to this role.

Membership Development Manager - closed to new applications. Interviews to take place 16 December

Salary: £32,169 to £39,998 (points 25-36 on GPEW National Pay Scale)

The Green Party is recruiting a Membership Development Manager (MDM) to lead a small team providing support and services to the Party’s members and supporters.  This is a new role created as part of a restructuring of the Party’s membership function.

The MDM will have overall responsibility for improving the Party’s offer to its members, supporters and friends. They will have responsibility for understanding the supporter-member journey and for using that understanding to organise membership recruitment campaigns and activity, to improve membership retention, and through improvements in the member and supporter experience to promote more active engagement by members in Party activity at all levels.
