Leadership Assistant

Salary: £20,000 to £23,902 (points 1-10 on the GPEW national pay scale)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Green Party National Office, London

The Green Party of England and Wales is seeking a highly organised person to manage the diaries and schedules of a Co-leader, the Deputy Leader and the Chief Executive. The ideal person for this role will be someone with exceptional attention to detail and an experienced and effective communicator. There will be considerable liaison with local parties across England and Wales, members and supporters, particularly as events that the Leadership team will attend are being planned. The person appointed to this role will require discretion and the ability to deal with often confidential and sensitive matters. They will need to have an understanding of the Party’s overall priorities set out in its Political Strategy. In addition to managing the diary and helping with the planning of events, the person appointed will also provide administrative support – managing email inboxes and helping draft appropriate responses as needed and with taking minutes of important meetings such as the Green Party Executive (GPEX).

Parliamentary and Press Assistant

Salary: £18,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Local Party Development Officer - Cannock Chase Green Party

Cannock Chase Green Party (CCGP) was established as part of the Green Surge in the early months of 2015. We have hit the ground running and have developed a very active presence throughout the local community spearheading many successful campaigns and achieved the election of our first councillor in May this year just 15 months after the local party was formed. We are now looking for a dynamic individual to support the growth and development of our local party, in particular increasing our volunteer capacity, capability and impact within the community. In particular, the Local Party Development Officer will help co-ordinate our volunteer input for the all-out County Council elections in 2017.

The Local Party Development Officer will play a key role in ensuring that volunteer resources within the local party are well managed, and that we develop and implement a good strategy for May 2017. They will help to identify local party development needs and priorities and contribute to elections campaign co-ordination and delivery.

We are looking for an individual who has solid experience of volunteer development who has strong organisational and relationship-building skills, and understands how to manage a varied work load and prioritise tasks.

This role will involve working closely with Local Party Executive Committee members and some regional staff.

Fee: £2520 paid in eight equal instalments.

The Local Party Development Officer will be engaged as an independent contractor, responsible for making their own tax returns and for paying taxes due in respect of the fees payable according to this contract.

The Local Party Development Officer will meet their own expenses out of their monthly fee for the performance of duties as laid out in the agreed schedule.

Hours: The contract period will be from October 2016-May 2017, exact start date and working pattern by agreement. It is anticipated that the contract will delivered over 30 days and allocation will be agreed against a schedule of outcomes agreed between the LPDW and CCGP that will allow flexibility over the contract period to achieve the outcomes agreed.

Location: Primarily home working, but attending meetings and events in and around Cannock Chase as required. Only reasonable out of area travel expenses will be met.

Contract manager: CCGP Co-ordinator plus a nominee of the CCGP Executive,with support from the Green Party Regional staff for the West Midlands.

The Green Party is seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer to join their Finance Team in the Party’s National Office. This is a varied and broad role with involvement from transactional processing up to monthly and annual reporting. 

Candidates will have demonstrable experience in management and financial accounting and ideally be part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or show an in depth knowledge and understanding of all finance duties and responsibilities. 

They will possess experience in Sage 50 accounts, be an intermediate to advanced Excel user, have an excellent knowledge and understanding of databases and have an affinity with the Party.
