Green Party to mass canvass Brighton today

6 September 2009

At 230pm today, the Green Party autumn conference will adjourn to start a mass canvass and leaflet in the constituency of Brighton Pavilion.

Caroline Lucas, who has represented Brighton residents since 1999 as the Green MEP for the South East of England, will be the Green parliamentary candidate in Brighton Pavilion at the next general election. Greens hold 13 seats on Brighton and Hove council, 9 of which are in Brighton Pavilion.

Electing a Green MP in Brighton Pavilion constituency will send shock waves through the political establishment, and lead to real change in the way environmental and social justice issues are tackled at national level.
