Greens joined thousands of protesters in London marching against the badger cull.

GREEN Party members from across the country marched in London on Saturday to protest against the unscientific, unethical and inhumane Badger Cull due to start that evening.
Jean Lambert MEP joined the protesters and said 'Not only is a badger cull cruel but the evidence also suggests it will be ineffective. Rather than causing unnecessary harm to one of the UK’s favourite creatures the Government should be seriously looking into alternative ways to solve the TB problem'.
Vet and Green Party Animal Spokesperson Caroline Allen said 'there is absolutely no scientific justification for this cull at all. It won't work and will result in terrible badger suffering. We urge the government to instead focus the funds and efforts into developing a vaccine for cows and improving the testing regime'.

Green MP Caroline Lucas MP tabled the first parliamentary motion where MPs clearly voted to reject the cull. She will be attending the opposition debate on Wednesday to once again call for this 'barbaric and ineffective' cull to be stopped.

Green Party leader Natalie Bennett added 'The Green Party will continue to work through parliamentary means, and support peaceful protests, to stop the cull. This cull will lead to the death of thousands of healthy animals, and great stress and suffering to large numbers more. This must be stopped.'
