Jenny Jones to make an a-peer-ance in South West!

29 November 2013

Baroness Jenny Jones of Moulsecoomb, the recently appointed Green Party peer, is to make her first tour outside London since being appointed to the House of Lords. The former Deputy Mayor of London will be joined by Dr Molly Scott Cato, Green Party finance speaker and lead South West candidate for next year’s European elections.

The two high profile Green party women will be out and about together across Dorset meeting voters in Bournemouth, Weymouth and Swanage and also just across the Somerset border in Yeovil, where they will be hearing about voters' concerns on transport, which has been one of Jenny Jones's top priorities as London Assembly Member for the last 13 years.  In Bournemouth, the pair will also be attending a meeting exploring the question of where Dorset’s energy should come from.

Speaking about Jenny Jones’s visit to the South West, Dr Scott Cato said:

“It is a great honour that Jenny Jones has chosen the South West as her first place to visit outside London since becoming a peer. Jenny is one of London's most prominent politicians having achieved popularity by keeping London mayor Boris Johnson in check on the London Assembly. I know how much she is looking forward to meeting voters and we are both looking forward to answering their questions”.
