Green Party leader chooses Leeds artist’s work reflecting diversity of Britain for seasonal card

21 December 2015

The Green Party’s leader, Natalie Bennett has chosen the work of an artist from Leeds to feature on the front of her 2015 Christmas card.

(Inter)-National Grid [1] – a collage of different nationalities in their national dress on a vintage map of Britain - by artist Eva Mileusnic [2] was chosen by Natalie because of its celebration of the contributions made by a “wide range of diverse backgrounds”.

Bennett said:

“I chose this image because I enjoy the sense it gives of the energy generated by the diverse population that has contributed over centuries towards the nation we are today.

“This image celebrates the contributions of people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and I hope others enjoy it as much as I do.”

Eva Mileusnic said:

"The painting - (Inter)-National Grid reflects my ideas of the positive side of immigration in modern day Britain and the power and energy generated by our diverse cultural population.

“I am delighted that Natalie Bennett has recognised the positive message behind this artwork."
