* Greens to hold Party Conference in Harrogate, north Yorkshire

* Natalie Bennett: 2016 “is a year of immense opportunity for the Green Party”

The Green Party will be holding its Spring Conference 26-28 February 2016 at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC).

Following the Greens’ best-ever performance in a General Election, in which the Party achieved one million votes for the first time, Green Party members and supporters from across the UK will congregate for three days of policy-making, learning and networking.

At Conference, leading Green politicians will outline the Party’s key upcoming political and electoral campaigns. Natalie Bennett, Green Party Leader, will deliver her Leaders’ Speech at 14.00 on Friday 26 February at HIC to assembled members, activists and political commentators. Deputy Leaders Dr Shahrar Ali and Amelia Womack will both address Conference.

Sian Berry, the Green Party's London Mayoral candidate, will unveil her Green vision for the capital city. Caroline Lucas, Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, who increased her majority by more than 10 percentage points at the General Election, will also attend. Alice Hooker Stroud, the new Leader of the Wales Green Party, will also deliver a speech.

In advance of Conference, Bennett said

"I look forward to meeting many new members and catching up with existing members and supporters at our Spring Conference. Conference-goers will experience the Party’s uniquely democratic and transparent policy-making process.

“The Green Party is a vibrant, united party committed to our values and to standing up for people and planet. Next year is a year of immense opportunity for the Green Party. Driven forward by our passionate members and supporters, we look forward to increasing our number of seats on the London Assembly, putting in our best-ever performance in the London Mayoral contest, gaining a seat on the Welsh Assembly and growing our representation on councils across England and Wales."
