Clean Air in London endorses Sian Berry and the Greens

2 May 2016

Clean Air in London asks people to vote Green on the London Assembly list vote and has urged support for Sian Berry as 1st preference for Mayor.

The Clean Air in London campaign has recommended voting Green on the London-wide Assembly list (1) on Thursday 5 May, in order to “get clean air most firmly on the London Assembly”.

Their decision about who to recommend for Thursday’s election is based upon the policy commitments made by the candidates. It is one of a series of independent recommendations and positive assessments made by campaign groups which have favoured the greens.

Friends of the Earth gave the greens a 10/10 score (2), as did the Guardian ‘bike blog’.  Londoners on Bikes have urged people to vote green for the London Assembly and as their Mayoral 1st preference. The magazine Inside Housing thought Sian Berry was the best candidate at the National Housing Federation debate and the campaign group Generation Rent have given Sian Berry a clear lead (3) when assessing their campaign demands against the manifesto policies of the different candidates.

Sian Berry, candidate for the Green Party in the mayoral election said:

“Our ideas have had so much positive feedback from policy experts and campaigners. I’m so pleased that our past work and future plans on air pollution are both recognized in this endorsement from the Clean Air in London campaign.

"Air pollution was ignored by everyone except the Greens when we were first elected to the London Assembly sixteen years ago, and a big block of Greens elected to the Assembly this year will keep will keep clean air, rents and decent wages top of the agenda for the next four years. Every Green vote on the orange ballot paper will help make this happen.”
