Natalie Bennett: 'We must all stand together to defeat racism and all forms of intolerance'

Reacting to the reported rise in the number of hate-related incidents in the wake of the announcement of the EU referendum result (1), Natalie Bennett, Green Party Leader said:

"Now more than ever is a time when we must stand together against all forms of intolerance, discrimination and hatred.

“The Green Party is calling for everyone to work for community cohesion in these frightening, uncertain times. That can mean supporting organised efforts to build cohesion, but also individuals reaching out a hand of friendship and understanding to all in their community on a person-to-person level.
 
"Regardless of how we voted on 23 June we must all stand together to defeat racism and all forms of intolerance.” 

1. The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) said there had been a sharp rise in reports to an online crime reporting site. There have also been reports of an increase of racist and xenophobic incidents and attacks.
