The Green Party has repeated its warning that the Investigatory Powers Bill coming into power today means Trump can know everything about British citizens the UK Government does.
Jenny Jones, Green member in the House of Lords, said:
“Putting Government spying on this scale into law means our security services now have unprecedented powers to spy on us - and Trump can know everything about us that our Government knows.
“This will inevitably result in abuses of power and will come back to bite us in future years.”
