The Green Party has supported Boris Johnson’s comments on Saudi Arabia [1] – and urged him to repeat them.
Jonathan Bartley, co-leader of the Green Party, said:
“As Boris Johnson goes to the Middle East today we support the comments he has made about Saudi Arabia – and urge him to repeat them. There is no doubt Saudi Arabia is responsible for proxy wars and is a brutal, oppressive regime and any Foreign Secretary has a duty to be honest about that.
“The Foreign Secretary should also use this opportunity to announce that Britain will stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia until they comply with human rights laws.
“We have always said we will support Government ministers when they are right.”
