As doctors and nurses warn of the worst ever NHS winter crisis , the Green Party is calling on the Government to accept responsibility for the shocking conditions instead of trying to shift the blame onto others. The Health Secretary must act immediately to find a solution to this crisis.
Jonathan Bartley, Green Party co-leader, said:
“NHS staff have made it clear they are facing their worst ever winter crisis. How much louder do they need to shout before the Government listens? We’ve just witnessed the worst year in NHS history and workers across the country have repeatedly spoken out about their concerns to no avail. Overflowing hospitals, overworked staff and severe delays in treatment have sadly become the norm.
“We’re calling on Jeremy Hunt to listen to the professionals on the frontline and take immediate action to relieve the pressure on the NHS. The longer the Government refuses to acknowledge the scale of the problem and accept responsibility, let alone help fix it, the more patients and NHS staff will suffer.”
