Green Party in Northern Ireland to offer positive alternative in snap election

18 January 2017

The Green Party has responded to the announcement of early elections in Northern Ireland on March 2 [1]. The Green Party in Northern Ireland will be campaigning to offer a progressive, positive alternative to the politics of waste [2].

Jonathan Bartley, Green Party co-leader, said:

“During a time of political turmoil, in the wake of the Brexit vote and election of Donald Trump, people in Northern Ireland are now facing extra uncertainty. But the Green Party is determined to make 2017 a year of hope and we will be setting out a progressive way forward. While this is not an election that was hoped or planned for, it is still crucial all eligible voters have their say. We’re calling on every citizen, no matter how disillusioned, to use their vote to demand a stable government, to challenge the politics of waste and to back the Green Party for a progressive, positive alternative.”
